Poured concrete arch dams

Guy F. Atkinson, Inc., one of the nation's top ten major construction companies, uses SYNTHESIS in their construction of concrete arch dams. Accuracy is critical.

The dam is to be constructed of poured concrete blocks called lifts. SYNTHESIS is teamed with AutoCAD to create 300 lift drawings. Each drawing has 300 different placements and 120 variables.

SYNTHESIS prompts the user for 2 variables of each lift, then accesses a database and creates an accurate, completely dimensioned and referenced drawing.

As can be seen in the table below, SYNTHESIS dramatically reduced drawing time which in turn led to greater productivity and higher profits.
